In the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony, the stefana hold profound meaning. Joined by a ribbon, they form a visible sign of the sacred bond blessed upon the bride and groom. During the Crowning, the priest exchanges the stefana three times above their heads, invoking unity, spiritual protection, and the shared responsibility with which they will guide their home.
