Fresh Beginnings: Tourmaline, Pearl, and Swarovski Stefana
Each crown is sculpted from a continuous twisted 925 sterling silver plate, polished to a brilliant sheen. This forms the foundation of the design, creating elegant reflective curves that capture the light with remarkable precision.
Flowing along the twist is a continuous pattern of alternating crystal and bead accents. The square-cut colourful crystals bring a dynamic sparkle, shifting hues with every movement. Each crystal is secured within a refined silver-plated setting, ensuring durability and tonal harmony.
Contrasting with this brilliance are textured granulated beads finished in both gold-tone and silver-tone. Their tactile surfaces add depth and complexity, creating a mesmerising interplay of light, colour, and texture. Together, these elements form a work of layered luxury and meaningful symbolism.
In the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony, the stefana hold profound meaning. Joined by a ribbon, they form a visible sign of the sacred bond blessed upon the bride and groom. The circular crowns symbolise the honour and glory bestowed by God as the couple enters their new life together. During the Crowning, the priest exchanges the stefana three times above their heads, invoking unity, spiritual protection, and the shared responsibility with which they will guide their home.
Once the ceremony concludes, the crowns are reverently removed, marking the beginning of the couple’s journey as husband and wife. Many newlyweds preserve their stefana in a glass display case, placing them in a special corner of their home — often the bedroom — as a lasting reminder of their vows, blessings, and the sacredness of the moment they were united.
Each pair is individually made to order, meaning no two crowns will ever be identical. Subtle variations in form, texture, and finish reflect the artistry of handmade work and the uniqueness of the couple who will wear them.
