Fresh Beginnings: Tourmaline, Pearl, and Swarovski Stefana
Each crown is meticulously crafted with a flowing garland of freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals, individually hand-wired around a slender sterling-silver hoop. This artisanal arrangement creates a delicate, organic texture reminiscent of tiny buds and blossoms, shimmering softly as they catch the light.
Interwoven among the pearl and crystal clusters are vibrant green tourmaline-style accents, adding a refreshing botanical element to the design. Their rich green hue symbolises life, growth, and prosperity, enriching the crowns with depth and natural beauty. Clear Swarovski crystals provide brilliant light refraction, while the soft lustre of the pearls introduces a romantic timelessness. Beneath this floral arrangement lies a discreet yet durable 925 sterling silver foundation, ensuring the crowns endure as a cherished family heirloom.
In the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony, the stefana hold profound meaning. Joined by a ribbon, they form a visible sign of the sacred bond blessed upon the bride and groom. The circular crowns symbolise the honour and glory bestowed by God as the couple enters their new life together. During the Crowning, the priest exchanges the stefana three times above their heads, invoking unity, spiritual protection, and the shared responsibility with which they will guide their home.
Once the ceremony concludes, the crowns are reverently removed, marking the beginning of the couple’s journey as husband and wife. Many newlyweds preserve their stefana in a glass display case, placing them in a special corner of their home — often the bedroom — as a lasting reminder of their vows, blessings, and the sacredness of the moment they were united.
Each pair is individually made to order, meaning no two crowns will ever be identical.
